Bar-Ilan Global Gathering 2026 – Update

Having waited until the last possible moment in the hope of more peaceful days, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Bar-Ilan University Global Gathering.

Given the ongoing war across multiple fronts and the continued uncertainty around travel to and from Israel, this is the most responsible course of action. The safety and wellbeing of our participants, as well as our students, faculty, and staff, must come first.

This decision has not been made lightly. This year marks Bar-Ilan University’s 70th anniversary—a moment that reflects both the university’s history and its remarkable trajectory today. Bar-Ilan is now the fastest-growing university in Israel, with significant expansion in both student enrollment and research activity in recent years. We had very much hoped to share that momentum with you on campus.

During these difficult days, Bar-Ilan continues to be fully focused on supporting its students and community. From expanded financial assistance to academic accommodations and ongoing support, the university is working every day to ensure that students—many of whom have been called up to reserve duty—are able to continue their studies and move forward.

While we are disappointed not to be together in Israel this May, we are currently exploring opportunities to gather in person this fall and look forward to welcoming you for the Global Gathering in May 2027.
