Nir Reveals Protein Trio

A “trio” of proteins that appear to play a pivotal role in the onset of various cancers has been revealed by Uri Nir, Director of the Nano Medicine Center at the Institute of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials at Bar-Ilan. Fixler Detecting Cancer with Gold

Using gold particles as a diagnostic tool, Dr. Dror Fixler and his team at the Advanced Light Microscopy Laboratory at BIU have created a non-invasive optical system to detect cancer of the head, neck, tongue and throat. It has proven itself during its first human tests.

Zaban Electric Car Battery Technology

The Israeli start-up company Phinergy is relying on technology developed by BIU’s Prof. Arie Zaban to create an affordable, long-lasting battery for electric cars. Zaban and his team are partnering with Phinergy to change the base on which the battery operates through contact of aluminum with oxygen and water.
