Dear Friends,
With Purim festivities behind us, we are all preparing for the coming Pesach holiday. While the former marks the miraculous saving of the Jewish people in the Diaspora from a murderous anti-Semite, the other commemorates the beginnings of the first major Aliyah to the Land of Israel. In this month’s newsletter: we recall our roots in a report on archaeological research on the ancient Philistines’ impact on local flora; report on a conference exploring how the Israel of today struggles to find common ground between Judaism and Democracy; find out what our closest neighbor – Jordan – really thinks of us; and show ways we try to improve the lives of Israelis and the world-at-large through cancer research. Wishing you all a Chag Kasher V’Sameach!
